Granny Groo makes arrangements to sell Groo into slavery. Groo recalls a time when she sold him as a child with a promise to have him freed later. Rufferto is given Groo's swords to guard while Groo is with the slavers and tells a story of his bravery to a pack of wild dogs. Rufferto returns Groo's swords to him just as he is backed into a corner by a group of King Londo's guards.
